Abstract

Background: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is definitive for end-stage hip osteoarthritis (OA). Objectives: To evaluate clinical, functional, and quality of life (QoL) outcomes post-THA. Methods: A prospective study of 32 patients with severe hip OA undergoing primary cementless THA via a piriformis-sparing posterior approach. Harris Hip Score (HHS) and SF-36 were assessed preoperatively, 3 and 6 months post-surgery. Results: Mean HHS increased from 44,0 to 90,6 (p<0,001). 93,8% patients achieved good-to-excellent outcomes. Improved QoL was      significantly across all SF-36 domains. One superficial infection (3,1%) occurred, with no major complications. Conclusion: THA is a safe and highly effective surgical procedure, providing excellent functional recovery and comprehensive improvement in health-related QoL.
