Author Guidelines

The Da Nang Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy accepts and publishes scientific papers in the fields of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Health Sciences. To ensure academic quality and consistency, authors are requested to strictly adhere to the following guidelines when preparing and submitting manuscripts.

General requirements

Originality: Submissions must be original scientific works that have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal or publicly accessible database, either domestically or internationally.

Format & language: Manuscripts must be drafted in English or Vietnamese using Microsoft Word (.docx format) and must be grammatically correct and free of spelling errors.

Terminology: Vietnamese technical terminology must be used consistently. Terms translated from foreign languages must be accompanied by the original term (in parentheses) upon their first appearance in the text.

Author anonymity: Information regarding the author(s) must be presented in a separate file, completely distinct from the main manuscript file. (Mẫu 01-TCYD).

Word limit: Manuscripts must not exceed 4,000 words, excluding tables, figures, and references.

Submission Preparation Checklist

General formatting
Paper size & encoding: A4 paper, Unicode encoding.

Font: Arial, size 11.

Spacing & alignment: 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment.

Margins: 2 cm on all sides (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).

Page numbering: Bottom right corner.

Component formatting
Article title:

Format: Uppercase, Bold, Centered.

Size: 20 (Vietnamese title), 16 (English title).

Abstract (Vietnamese & English):

Presented as a single paragraph, no line breaks, maximum 300 words.

Structure must include: Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions.

Headings:

The manuscript should not exceed 3 heading levels:

Main Heading: Uppercase, Bold, Roman numerals (I, II, III...).

Subheading: Bold, Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3...).

Minor Heading: Bold Italic, unnumbered.

Research ethics and conflict of interest
The Journal applies the recommendations of the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) in reviewing and publishing articles.

Authors must fully declare all funding sources (if any) and commit that there are no conflicts of interest.

For research involving human subjects, authors must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and current regulations on research ethics; a clear statement regarding Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval (if applicable) is required.

All authors are responsible for scientific integrity and the content of the article.

Accepted article types
1. Original research 

Structure: Introduction – Subjects and Methods – Results – Discussion – Conclusions – Recommendations (if any) – Acknowledgments – References.

2. Case studies

In addition to the basic structure, the article must ensure:

Written consent from the patient or their legal representative.

Full anonymization of patient information.

Compliance with biomedical research ethics regulations.

3. Reviews

The Journal accepts three types of reviews:

a) Narrative review: Synthesis and analysis of published research based on the author's approach.

b) Systematic review: Conducted via a rigorous scientific process; adherence to PRISMA guidelines is encouraged.

c) Scoping review: Surveys and maps the existing research scope; adherence to the JBI Manual and PRISMA-ScR is encouraged.

References
Citation Order: Cited numerically in the order of appearance (superscript format).

References style: Strictly adhere to Vancouver style.

Source Selection: Priority is given to references published within the last 5 years, sourced from reputable databases (PubMed, Scopus, WoS, etc.).

Publication fees
Currently, the Da Nang Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences does not charge submission fees or publication fees (APCs).

Main Manuscript File (Must be anonymized: Author names and affiliations removed).

Tables, Figures, Diagrams, Charts (including accompanying captions).

Supplementary Data / Appendices File (If applicable).

Copyright Notice

If accepted, the article will be published under the Open Access model. Authors retain copyright, and the work is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license.
